Marble Rye Waffle Sandwiches

A deli delight turns trendy as a waffle sandwich, with tempting layers of pastrami and Swiss.

Swiss cheese slices

Waffles
  1. Grind caraway seeds in food processor and add to mixing bowl.
  2. Pour water and pancake mix into bowl; stir with wire whisk until smooth.
  3. Divide batter in half (approx. 3 lb 14 oz each) into separate mixing bowls.
  4. Add molasses and cocoa powder to one bowl; mix both until smooth.
  5. Place a #12 scoop of EACH batter onto well-oiled, preheated waffle iron to 375°-380°F; bake 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Divide waffles into quarters and set aside until needed.
Assembly
  1. Spread 1 tsp Thousand Island dressing over 2 waffle quarters.
  2. Top 1 waffle quarter with 0.5 oz swiss cheese, 3 oz pastrami, additional 0.5 oz swiss cheese and 2nd waffle quarter.
  3. Repeat steps for remaining waffles and serve.
