Tiramisu Stuffed French Toast

A great way to used day old baked Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Twirls and add decadence to your brunch menu, this stacked French toast is inspired by the flavors of Tiramisu. Espresso, mascarpone, and whipped cream come together for a unique breakfast offering.

Filling
  1. Add Mascarpone cheese and heavy whipping cream to a mixer bowl fitted with a whisk attachment.
  2. Mix at high speed, stopping and stirring as needed, until firm peaks form; keep cool.
Espresso Maple Glaze
  1. Mix espresso powder and hot water together in a small bowl until dissolved.
  2. Add maple syrup and stir; set aside for service.
Assembly
  1. Slice previously baked cinnamon twirls in half horizontally, creating top and bottom pieces.
  2. Dip cinnamon twirl halves into melted vanilla ice cream, coating both sides and place on parchment-lined sheet pans.
  3. Bake as directed until golden brown and baked through; allow to cool completely.

*Rotate pans baked in convection oven one-half turn (180°) after 3 minutes of baking.
Finishing
  1. Place each cooled, bottom French toast piece on a serving plate and top with 3/4 Tbsp Espresso Maple Glaze.
  2. Pipe on 3 Tbsp (2 oz) Filling with a round pastry tip then top with remaining French toast piece.
  3. Finish with piping on 1 1/2 Tbsp (1 oz) Filling and serve immediately.

  • Garnish with a dusting of cocoa powder if desired for a more authentic Tiramisu look.

  • Swap out caramel twirl for cinnamon twirl for a different flavor if desired.
  • A great use for leftover cinnamon twirls!
