Savory Donuts

Savory biscuit dough, with oregano, garlic and basil, is cut and fried, donut-style, in a savory snack that's great served with marinara sauce.

Garlic powder
1 Tbsp
Black pepper

Basil leaves, dried

Oregano leaves, dried

4 Tbsp
Kosher salt
0.75 oz

  1. Mix water, biscuit mix and seasonings in large mixing bowl according to box directions, until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
  2. Deposit dough using a #20 scoop onto parchment-lined full sheet pans in a 4 x 6 pattern.
  3. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of dough and top with a sheet pan. Press down lightly to flatten.
  4. Cut dough using a 3-inch donut cutter. Replace donut holes into center or fry separately as desired.
  5. Drop donuts into fryer oil preheated to 350°F for 3-6 minutes until golden brown and cooked through, turning as necessary.
  6. Drain on wire rack, cool slightly before serving.

  • Try serving with a light dusting of parmesan cheese and marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping or change the seasoning blend and make your own combinations. Note nutritional information will change.
