Crumb Topping
  1. Mix 2 lb cake mix, butter and almonds in mixer bowl with paddle attachment on medium speed 2 minutes or until crumbly. Set aside.
Batter
  1. Drain canned pears over a measuring cup to get 2 cups juice (add water as needed to make 2 cups liquid).
  2. Mix pears, remaining cake mix and spices in second mixer bowl with paddle attachment on low speed 2 minutes.
  3. Add pear juice slowly while mixing on low speed 2 minutes.
  4. Stop mixer, scrape bowl and paddle; mix additional 2 minutes on medium speed.
  5. Spread batter evenly in well sprayed full sheet pan and sprinkle crumb topping evenly over surface of cake.
  6. Bake as directed below; allow to cool completely and sprinkle powdered sugar over top.
  7. Cool completely. Sprinkle powdered sugar evenly across cake.
