Cranberry and apple -- what a pair! They team up deliciously in a moist, pecan-topped muffin.

Topping
  1. Combine oats, pecans and nutmeg in small mixing bowl; set aside until needed.
Batter
  1. Pour 2 cups water and wheat bran into mixing bowl; allow to soak at least 5 minutes.
  2. Combine in separate bowl the remaining 4 3/4 cups water and muffin mix.
  3. Fold in soaked wheat bran, apples, cranberries and spices. DO NOT OVERMIX.
  4. Deposit #10 scoop of batter into greased or paper-lined muffin pans.
  5. Sprinkle Topping mixture evenly on top and bake as directed below.
