Cherry Whole Grain-Rich Muffin Squares

Cherries and almond -- what a pairing! Together, they are fab in an amazing whole-grain breakfast bar.

Chopped dark sweet cherries, canned, reserve juice

Cherry juice, cool

Imitation almond extract

  1. Pour cherry juice and almond extract into a mixing bowl; add muffin mix.
  2. Mix using a rubber spatula until blended; fold in cherries. DO NOT overmix.
  3. Deposit batter into parchment-lined, or greased full sheet pan.
  4. Bake as directed below; allow to cool and cut into 32, 3x4-inch servings.
