Each bite of this whole-grain muffin holds dark, sweet cherries with luscious almond.

Dark sweet cherries, canned, reserve juice

Cherry juice, cool

Imitation almond extract

  1. Dice cherries into small pieces; combine with reserved cherry juice and water to measure 4 cups.
  2. Add to mixing bowl with almond extract and muffin mix; whisk until well blended.
  3. Deposit #16 scoop of batter into greased or paper-lined muffin pans.
  4. Bake as directed below.
