Cherry Cocoa Smoothies

The cherry-chocolate pairing works in a smoothie made with canned cherries and cocoa powder.

Servings: 16 servings (1 serving = 1- 8 oz smoothie)

Pitted sweet cherries, canned, drained, chilled

Cocoa powder

  1. Add cherries to large capacity blender (or prepare in batches).
  2. Blend on high speed 1 minute; stop blender and scrape sides with spatula.
  3. Continue to blend until smooth.
  4. Measure to verify that pureeing has resulted in 8 cups of fruit (for nutrition requirements if needed); puree additional fruit if necessary.
  5. Whisk fruit puree, cocoa powder and yogurt together in large container until smooth.
  6. Portion into serving cups and cover; serve chilled immediately or refrigerate overnight.
