Cherry Cake

The simple addition of chopped maraschino cherries makes a cake special. Make it as a sheet or layer cake, or as cupcakes.

Maraschino cherries, chopped

  1. Mix half of the water and the entire cake mix in mixer bowl using paddle attachment on medium speed 2 minutes.
  2. Add cherries and remaining water gradually while mixing on low speed.
  3. Stop mixer, scrape bowl and paddle. Mix on low speed 2 minutes. Do not overmix.
  4. Pour batter (see Alternate Pan Sizes info below) into greased or greased and paper-lined full sheet pan (pan extenders may be necessary)
  5. Bake as directed below and allow to cool before finishing as desired.
