Cheese Straws

Twist up flaky pastry and Parmesan cheese in a snack that's melt-in-your-mouth good.

Parmesan cheese, shredded

  1. Follow steps 1-3 of package directions for preparation of dough.
  2. Add 3 cups of the cheese; mix.
  3. Place dough on floured bench or cloth.
  4. Divide dough in half; roll each piece 26 x 12-inches wide.
  5. Fold bottom 1/3 of dough up; fold remaining dough down, making three layers.
  6. Flatten dough lightly with rolling pin to 1/2-inch thick and cut into 4-inch strips.
  7. Twist ends of each strip, and place in 4 x 10 pattern on greased or parchment-lined full sheet pan.
  8. Press ends of twists down onto sheet pan; brush with water and sprinkle with remaining cheese before baking.
