White Chocolate Orange Scones

Cream scones made with Gold Medal™ Buttermilk Biscuit Mix balance citrus from orange zest and orange juice with sweetness from white chocolate.

Brown sugar, packed

Orange juice, freshly squeezed

Orange zest
5 Tbsp
Orange extract
2 tsp
White chocolate chips
1 lb
3 cups
Egg white, whisked lightly
1 each
Sugar crystals
2 Tbsp
  1. Place biscuit mix, butter and brown sugar in large mixing bowl; mix with pastry blender until dough resembles crumbs.
  2. Add cream, orange juice, zest and extract; mix until crumbly.
  3. Stir in chocolate chips and knead in bowl until soft dough forms.
  4. Dust benchtop lightly with flour and flatten dough with floured hands into 1/2-inch thick, 12x16-inch rectangle.
  5. Brush evenly with beaten egg white; sprinkle with sugar crystals.
  6. Cut dough vertically into 4 - 4x12-inch pieces; cut horizontally to form 16 rectangles.
  7. Cut each rectangle diagonally for 32 triangles.
  8. Place scones on parchment-lined full sheet pans; bake as directed below until golden brown.
