The Ultimate Crunch Cinnamon Roll

Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Roll Dough gets coated with a super crunchy panko breading and then fried to perfection.

Prep
  1. Thaw rolls, covered, either at room temperature 30-60 minutes or refrigerated overnight.
  2. Add flour, whisked eggs and panko breadcrumbs to separate bowls.
  3. Dip thawed rolls in flour, coating completely and shaking off excess, then eggs, then panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Press out to an approx. 4-inch diameter circle; repeat coating a second time in flour, eggs and panko breadcrumbs.
  5. Place on parchment-lined sheet pan and cover; sit at room temperature for 30 minutes - 1 hour to proof until they appear airy and pillowy.
Assembly
  1. Heat deep fryer to 350°F and cook for 2 minutes on each side.
  2. Remove from oil and blot on paper towel.
Finishing
  1. Dust top and bottom with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

  • Serve with prepared crème anglaise, raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce or caramel sauce for an elevated concept.
