Biscuits with Bacon Cheddar Gravy

Bacon slices, raw

Biscuits
  1. Bake biscuits according to package directions below. Keep warm.

*Rotate pans baked in convection oven one-half turn (180°) after 9 minutes of baking.
Sauce
  1. Cook bacon in skillet until brown and drain; chop into medium-size pieces and set aside.
  2. Mix gravy mix and 1 1/2 cups of the water in mixing bowl; stir with whisk until lumps are dissolved.
  3. Add remaining water to heavy saucepan and heat to boiling.
  4. Whisk in dissolved gravy until well blended and sauce thickens, about 1 minute.
  5. Remove from heat. Stir in cooked chopped bacon and cheddar cheese until well blended.
Assembly
  1. Split warm biscuits in half horizontally.
  2. Place bottom half of biscuit on plate and ladle approx. 3.5 oz (1/2 cup) of bacon cheddar gravy over each biscuit.
  3. Top with remaining biscuit half and serve immediately.
