Nutmeg, ground

Brown sugar, packed

Almond extract
1 Tbsp
Lemon juice

Gold Medal™ Buttermilk Biscuit Mix (11765)

Topping
Toast sliced almonds in oven set at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or until light brown; cool.
Set aside 2 cups for topping.
Mix remaining 1/2 cup toasted almonds and 1/4 cup brown sugar in small mixing bowl until well blended.
Set aside.
Biscuits
Mix water, sour cream, vanilla and nutmeg in mixing bowl using rubber spatula until well blended.
Add 2 cups toasted sliced almonds, brown sugar, almond extract and lemon juice; mix well.
Add biscuit mix. Mix using a rubber spatula approx. 30 strokes or until soft dough forms. DO NOT OVERMIX.
Deposit 3 oz (#12 scoop) of dough in 4x6 placement on lightly greased or parchment-lined full sheet pans.
Deposit a pinch of the topping evenly on each biscuit; press into dough lightly.
Bake as directed below.
