Beautiful little individual cake servings are iced on all sides, and decorated simply in a classic presentation.

Cake Batter

Batter
  1. Prepare cake batter according to package directions.
  2. Deposit cake batter into parchment-lined full sheet pan. Bake according to package directions.
  3. Cool cake completely before using.
Finishing
  1. Cut cake into 1x2 rectangular pieces (or desired shapes).
  2. Heat approx. 2 lb icing in double boiler (or carefully in microwave) to 120-130°F, stirring frequently.
  3. Heat additional icing when needed. Place 1 piece of cake onto Petit Four fork or similar object.
  4. Using small ladle, pour icing over each piece until fully coated.
  5. Transfer cake piece to cooling rack, and let icing set.

  • If desired, to add rosebud and/or leaf to Petit Four, color  8 oz/1 cup icing with food color(s), and place into piping bag(s). Pipe small rosebud on each piece using a #104 (small) rose tip. Pipe small leaf on each rosebud using a #68 (small) leaf tip.
